Mississippi State has had a couple of players de-commit lately, but the Bulldogs were on the positive side of a flip earlier today. Defensive back Tolando Cleveland withdrew his commitment from Georgia Tech and made a pledge to the Bulldogs, according to several recruiting sites.
Cleveland is a 6-foot, 170-pounder from Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Ga. He’s rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com, and he had committed to Georgia Tech last summer. According to Bulldawgs247, Cleveland attended an MSU camp last summer and was being pursued by defensive coordinator Geoff Collins even after committing to Tech. It appears he will visit MSU this weekend.
Paul Jones of Bulldawgs 247 wrote that this addition does not affect MSU’s pursuit of four-star cornerback MacKensie Alexander or his twin brother, Mackenro Alexander.
State now has 23 verbal commitments in this 2013 class.
